Hypnotherapy for burnout, in London and online

For people whose work still gets done, and who can feel that it is costing more than it used to. The work is arranged as a finite private programme, at your home or office, in a private consulting room in central London, or online.

What burnout looks like at this level

It rarely arrives as collapse. It arrives as flattening. The work still ships, the meetings still happen, and nobody around you notices anything wrong — which is precisely the problem, because there is no external signal telling you to stop.

What changes is internal. Decisions that used to take minutes take days. Sleep stops restoring, so mornings start from a deficit. The parts of the job you once found genuinely interesting go quiet. Small requests feel disproportionate. You find yourself managing your own reserves as carefully as you manage a budget, and finding them shorter each quarter.

Most people in this position have already tried the obvious remedies and found them temporary. That is not a failure of discipline. It is a sign that the thing being addressed is not the thing that is happening.

Why rest alone does not resolve it

The World Health Organization classifies burnout as an occupational phenomenon rather than a medical condition — a state that arises from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. That distinction matters, because it explains why time off helps and then stops helping.

A holiday refills the tank. It does not retrain the engine. If the underlying pattern is a nervous system that has learned to hold sustained vigilance as its default setting, then returning to the same environment simply restarts the same pattern, usually within a fortnight. This is the experience most people describe: the first week back undoes the second week away.

The work here addresses the setting rather than the fuel level. Hypnotherapy is used as a method for reaching and revising the automatic responses that keep that vigilance running when it is no longer useful — the ones that are not reachable by deciding harder.

How the work is arranged

Private consultation

A confidential conversation about where you are, what the load actually consists of, and what you want to be different. Unhurried, and without obligation.

A finite programme

A defined number of sessions, scoped before the work begins and built around your schedule. Not open-ended weekly appointments.

What you keep

Practical means of recognising the pattern early and interrupting it yourself, so the change holds after the programme ends.

Questions

Is burnout the same as stress?

They are related but not identical. Stress is a response to a demand and typically resolves when the demand does. Burnout is what accumulates when that response has run continuously for long enough that it becomes the baseline. The practical difference is that stress lifts on a holiday, and burnout does not.

I cannot take time off. Does this work alongside a full schedule?

Yes, and it is designed for exactly that. Sessions are finite and scheduled around your commitments, and can be held at your home or office, in central London, or online. Nothing here requires you to step away from your role.

How quickly do people notice a difference?

That varies with the person and with how long the pattern has been running, so no honest answer fixes a number to it. What is fixed is the scope: the number of sessions is agreed at the consultation, before you commit to anything.

Is this a medical treatment?

No. This is a hypnotherapy practice, not a medical or psychiatric service, and it does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. If something you are experiencing may have a medical cause, that belongs with your GP, and the two are not in competition.
