Hypnotherapy for sleep, in London and online
For people who are genuinely tired and still cannot switch off, and for those who fall asleep easily and lose the second half of the night. Held at your home or office, in a private consulting room in central London, or online.

The problem is rarely tiredness
People arrive at this exhausted. That is not the obstacle. The obstacle is that the moment there is nothing further to do, the mind takes the silence as an invitation to start work — reviewing the day just finished, rehearsing the one coming, and returning to the single unresolved item that refuses to be filed.
The three o'clock version is its own experience. Sleep arrives without difficulty, and then ends four hours later with an inbox already open in your head. The hours between then and the alarm are spent negotiating with yourself about whether to get up and deal with it.
In both cases the difficulty is not a shortage of fatigue. It is that winding down has become an activity requiring effort, at the one point in the day when no effort is available.
Why the standard advice runs out
Sleep hygiene advice assumes the problem is behaviour, and for many people it is, which is why it is the sensible first thing to try. Most people who reach this practice have already tried it. The room is dark, the phone is elsewhere, the coffee stopped at noon, and the difficulty is unchanged.
What remains after the behaviour is corrected is the part that behaviour does not reach: what the mind does automatically when it is finally unoccupied. That is the part this work addresses. Hypnotherapy is used to reach and revise the wind-down response itself, so that it stops depending on willpower at the hour when willpower is lowest.
Private consultation
A confidential conversation about the actual shape of the difficulty — getting to sleep, staying asleep, or waking unrestored. These are different problems and are approached differently.
A finite programme
A defined number of sessions, agreed in advance and arranged around your week.
What you keep
A wind-down that does not require you to be disciplined about it, and a way of handling the three o'clock waking that does not turn it into an hour.
Is this the same as sleep hygiene advice?
No. Sleep hygiene addresses what you do before bed, and it is worth doing. This work addresses what the mind does automatically once you have done it, which is the part that does not respond to instruction.
I fall asleep fine but wake at three. Is that different?
It is a different pattern and is approached differently. Difficulty getting to sleep usually involves a mind that has not finished the day. Waking in the small hours more often involves what happens when a light phase of sleep is met by something unresolved. The consultation establishes which one you are dealing with.
Do I have to stop working late?
That is not a precondition. Many people in demanding roles cannot control when their day ends, and a method that only works for people with orderly evenings would not be much use to them.
What if there is a medical cause?
Then it belongs with your GP first. Persistent snoring, breathing interruptions, or unrefreshing sleep despite adequate hours can point to something clinical that needs proper assessment. This is a hypnotherapy practice and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and it will say so plainly if that is what the consultation suggests.
